About Me

Guernsey is in my blood and I stand on the shoulders of generations of ancestors who have lived on this beautiful, small island and
helped to make it the wonderful place it is.

I was brought up in Guernsey and the Far East as my Dad was an airline pilot. On my Mum’s side we are a big Guernsey family.

Starting my professional life after graduating with a degree in Japanese and then a practical qualification as TEFLA teacher, I worked first in England and then in Asia. I returned to Guernsey and started work as a Course Co-ordinator & Administrator at the Guernsey & Finance Training Agency (now the GTA).

Moving into the Trust industry on a management trainee scheme. I continued to work in this sector and took relevant professional qualifications before having my first child in 2006. With 2 children by 2008, I worked in a family business and stayed at home setting up my own business with a 3rd baby arriving in 2011.

A founder of both FWS Ltd and Guernseymums.gg (Islandmums Ltd), at one stage I was running both my businesses concurrently though each had very different target audiences and client requirements. Both needed the same type of high level administrative, communication and marketing skills to effectively deliver services. I am no longer involved with either business but am proud that both are still successful going concerns.

My husband, Colin, and I have 3 children. We are a close family and spend lots of time with our children and close relatives. We value and enjoy learning about our history, the beach, walking and exploring Guernsey.

I come from a family with keen political interests and in recent years have learnt much about our Government and the commitment needed to secure the future, ensuring that we leave a good legacy for the generations to come.

First and foremost I am a member of the States of Deliberation and the States of Election. I am required to attend all convened meetings, where we discuss, debate and vote on policy and legislative matters.

I have sat on both Committees for Education Sport & Culture and Economic Development.

I have been Vice President of both and still hold that position for Economic Development.

I am responsible for Digital, Skills and Retail policy for the Committee and assist the President with Finance sector policy and his duties when he is absent. I have also sat as a Director for Start Up Guernsey and the Guernsey Training Agency and am the chair for Skills Guernsey.
